BWW Preview: DISENCHANTED!, a Hilarious Adult Parody about You-Know-Who's Princesses, will Play in Riverside, 3/25

On Saturday, March 25, 2017, Snow White and her princess friends will tell Riverside audiences what REALLY happened in their not-so-fairy-tale lives. DISENCHANTED!, the hit satirical musical suitable for adults only, will play two performances at the Fox Performing Arts Center, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Dennis Giacino, a former history teacher, conceived the idea for DISENCHANTED! after teaching his class about the colonial settlement at Jamestown, Virginia. He couldn't help but wonder what the "real" Pocahontas - a 10-year-old Powhatan girl - would think of the fringed deer-pelt miniskirt and long, flowing hair donned by her 20-year-old counterpart in the 1995 movie. Mr. Giacino penned a musical number skewering the "princess pop culture" that had transformed her and soon found himself thinking about other princesses who had a bone to pick with the way they have been portrayed. DISENCHANTED! was born.

The hilarious musical has played all over the world, and had a successful New York off-Broadway run. You will laugh and then laugh some more at the sassy, irreverent humor. But, don't bring the kiddies - leave that for trips to Anaheim, where you're liable to burst out laughing when you look at a princess and think about her DISENCHANTED! counterpart.

Ticket prices range from $31 to $51 plus fees. Tickets may be purchased online at RiversideLive.com or at the Fox Performing Arts Center box office Tues-Friday from 12pm-6pm and Saturday from 12pm-4pm.
