Brevard Symphony Kicks Off New Year with Sibelius, Beethoven's Emperor, & Mendelssohn's Third Image

There's no shortage of ways to celebrate the New Year than with a concert by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra on January 13th. In the third of the Brevard Symphony's 2017/18 subscription concerts, dazzling pianist Natasha Paremski will take the stage for Beethoven's majestic Emperor concerto. With her consistently striking and dynamic performances, pianist Natasha Paremski reveals astounding virtuosity and voracious interpretive abilities. The Emperor serves as the culmination of Beethoven's work in concerto form and is the largest in scale, showcasing the Classical concerto at its most noble. The program will also feature Sibelius' Valse triste and Mendelssohn's astonishing Third Symphony, Scottish. Even though numbered Third, the Scottish was actually the last symphony composed. The piece was derived from Mendelssohn's musical sketchbook filled with melodies inspired by his journeys and love of travel.

BSO Music Director and Principal Conductor Christopher Confessore conducts two performances at 2:00pm and 8:00pm at the King Center for the Performing Arts in Melbourne. Guests are also invited to join Maestro Confessore before the performance for Concert Conversations with Christopher Confessore. This fun, insightful, interactive chat begins approximately 40 minutes before the performance.
