The Shelter Presents the SOARWARD HOLIDAY PARTY at The Dumbo Loft, 12/12

By:

The Shelter - a New York City based indie theatre company, now celebrating their fourth season producing original works of theater written, directed, and acted by members of "The Shelter family" - will kick off their 2012-2013 season with a one-night-only, immersive ensemble theatre experience: the SOARWARD HOLIDAY PARTY on Wednesday, December 12 at 7:30pm at The Dumbo Loft (155 Water Street) Brooklyn, NY.

The SOARWARD HOLIDAY PARTY is the brainchild of the innovative and collaborative minds of The Shelter family - one part immersive ensemble theatre experience, surrounding the audience with the consulting company Soarward, LLC and its annual holiday party, and the other an actual holiday party, complete with food, bar, music, raffle prizes and much more.

The SOARWARD HOLIDAY PARTY will feature members of The Shelter family, including: Jonathan Ashley, Aubrey Ball, Ian Bell, Michael Bernstein, Laine Bonstein, Katelyn Collins, Lawrence Crimlis, Loren Dunn, Emily Robin Fink, Leigh Fitzjames, Meghan E. Jones, Ginger Kearns, Olivia Killingsworth, Michael Kingsbaker, Bob Kolsby, Dave Lankford, Paco Lozano, Michael Sean McGuinness, Morgan McGuire, Edwin Sean Patteson, Stephanie Ringstaff, Adam Santos-Coy, Lynn Sher, Nick Stevens, Tania Verafield, Maiken Wiese, and Martin Winslow.

The Shelter (theshelternyc.org), under the guidance of Artistic Directors Meghan Jones and Michael Kingsbaker and Executive Director Dave Lankford, is a family of artists creating original theatre for the New York stage. All productions are written, directed, and acted by its members and are developed through the company's weekly Shelter Sunday workshop series. The heartbeat of The Shelter, Shelter Sunday provides a safe harbor where New York's top emerging theatrical artists can collaboratively challenge themselves to explore their artistry and hone their respective crafts.

Through its productions, The Shelter strives to connect with patrons seeking innovative, independently produced theatre with a focus on character-driven storytelling. Past productions include: THE SHELTER PRESENTS: ART (2012), FAIRY TALE (2011), NIGHT WINDOWS (2011), F***ING CHRISTMAS (2010), MOTEL (2010) and 3:56 AM (2009).

Up next from The Shelter will be GHOST LIGHT, a collection of plays set on a bare stage below a single light, in February 2013; LILY & KOSMO, a comedic space opera for all ages performed in the style of a 1950's radio drama, in Spring 2013 - more information about both productions TBA. This event is The Shelter's annual fundraiser and season kick off.

The SOARWARD HOLIDAY PARTY is a one-night-only theatre experience on Wednesday, December 12 beginning at 7:30pm at The Dumbo Loft (155 Water Street) Brooklyn, NY. Basic tickets (which include entry and food) are $25 online, $35 at the door. Executive tickets (which include entry, food, an open bar and 3 raffle tickets) are $45 online, $60 at the door.
