The PIT Announces Winter Run Of THE STARTUP CULTURE: THE MUSICAL Image

The Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) is proud to present the premiere of The Startup Culture: The Musical by Molly Barrett, running January 16th through March 14th, 2019 at The PIT Loft.

A spin on the musical comedy classic The Pajama Game, The Startup Culture: The Musical is the world's first all-singing, all-dancing satirical explosion of the WeWork set. It's centered on "The Blackbelts" - entry level employees at Startup.com. The Blackbelts watch as mediocre men get promoted while they are busting their buns for pennies. Their trust fund baby of a CEO is trying his hardest to keep his wealth all to himself while the Blackbelts just want to get the seltzer and a beer keg that all other startups get. A new coder, Sid, joins the company and is immediately smitten on the leader of the Blackbelts, Babe. Babe is not one for office romances, she has a career to uphold, after all. It's Leave it to Beaver meets Wet Hot American Summer with a dash of Mad Men and is definitely NSFW. Come MeetUp with this laugh-riot this winter at The PIT Loft!

Written by Molly Barrett; directed and co-produced by Sara Dobrinich; musical direction by Christian Cepeda and featuring Molly Barrett, Akira Fukui, Mahalia Lerebours, Carolyn Kang, Colleen Sproull, Dillon Geyselaers, Maya Avisar and Kevin Ralston.

The Startup Culture: The Musical runs Wednesday, January 16th; Thursday January 17th; Friday, January 18th; Saturday, January 19th; Wednesday, January 23rd; Thursday, January 24th; Friday January 25th, Saturday, January 26th at 8p; and Thursdays at 8pm through Thursday, March 14th, 2019. Tickets are $12 (pre-sale), $15 (at the door) and available here: https://thepit-nyc.com/events/the-startup-culture/

The PIT Loft is located at 154 West 29th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). Easily reachable by the 1, 2/3, N/R, Q, A/C/E or Path trains.
