Mike Poblete's THE NEW YORK MONOLOGUES will get its U.S. premiere at Theater for the New City's ‘Dream Up Festival', running from August 18th thru August 22nd. Directed by Ruth McGowan, THE NEW YORK MONOLOGUES is produced by Backyart Productions and general managed by Small Pond Entertainment.
A series of fast paced rants from a Police Officer, Mortician, Soccer Coach, Deli Owner and more, THE NEW YORK MONOLOGUES is a humorous, poignant and unapologetic reflection of how a nation's most talked about tragedy affected the world's most neurotic, cynical and irreverent city.
The production will feature Bobby Abido, Simon Feil, Taylor D. Martin,
DeLance Minefee, Laurie Schroeder, and Max Woertendyke.
THE NEW YORK MONOLOGUES will run from August 18th thru August 22nd at Theater for the New City (155 First Avenue between 9th and 10th Streets) with performances Wednesday-Friday at 9pm, Saturday at 7pm, and Sunday at 5pm. Tickets are priced at $15 and can be purchased online at

THE NEW YORK MONOLOGUES was originally performed May 11th, 2009 at the International Bar in Dublin, Ireland by The Attic Studio. It then moved on to Smock
Alley Theatre in Dublin from May 25th - 30th, 2009 in association with Focus Theatre. It played at Electric Picnic in Co. Laois, Ireland on September 6th, 2009. It played at the International Bar in Dublin from September 24th - 27th as part of the Bulmer's International Comedy Festival. It was originally workshopped in The Attic Studio in 2006. It was most recently workshopped in Backyart in 2010.
