The Gallery Players is proud to announce casting and creative team for their first production of 2011, The Drowsy Chaperone. Directed by Hans Friedrichs (National Tour: State Fair), and produced by Robert Earle Jones (Associate Company Manager, Broadway: The Drowsy Chaperone), the winner of five 2006 Tony Awards comes to Brooklyn Saturday, January 29 and runs through Sunday, February 20, 2011.

A musical so fizzy, tart and intoxicating, it'll go straight to your head! No, it's not a vintage ‘28 Dom Perignon...it's The Drowsy Chaperone, a wildly rambunctious and deliciously funny tribute to musical comedies of the Jazz Age.

Take a spin on our narrator's turntable and dive into the world of madcap musical mayhem and mischief as the cast album of his favorite Broadway show bursts to life in his living room. It's the tale of a brazen follies starlet giving up the stage for love, and all the zany guests who've gathered for her wedding, including the gin-soaked chaperone assigned to keep a watchful eye, albeit at half-mast, on this motley crew. Winner of five 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone embodies the desire in all our hearts to simply be entertained.

The cast features a sparkling ensemble from Broadway and Off-Broadway, including The Gallery Players veterans: Whitney Branan, Jennifer DiDonato*, Tauren Hagans (The Wild Party, The Gallery Players), Robert Anthony Jones* (National Tour: The 101 Dalmations Musical), Edward Juvier* (Broadway: Les Miserables), Lorinne Lampert* (Top of the Heap, The Gallery Players), Aaron J. Libby*, Jake Mendes, Trey Mitchell* (National Tour: Seussical!), Jan-Peter Pedross* (Urinetown!, The Gallery Players), Colin Pritchard* (National Tour: 42nd Street), Megan Rosenblatt, Chloe Sabin (The Who's Tommy, The Gallery Players), Dawn Trautman, Craig Treubert (National Tour: The Drowsy Chaperone), Tyler Wallach, Eric Weaver. *denotes member, Actors Equity Association. This is an AEA approved showcase.

The Drowsy Chaperone is produced by Robert Earle Jones for The Gallery Players. Mr. Jones returns to the show once again, having assisted commercial producers Kevin McCollum and Roy Miller in the development of the pre-Broadway Los Angeles engagement, and then joining the company management team for its 2006 Broadway run at the Marquis Theatre.

Hans Friedrichs (National Tour: State Fair; Music for Michael Mouse, Carnegie Hall) directs The Gallery Players' production of The Drowsy Chaperone, Christine O'Grady (Broadway/National Tour: HAIR, Associate Choreographer) is the Choreographer, and Kevin Lawson is the Musical Director. Moller, Lighting Design is by Brad Peterson and Sound Design is by Kim Fuhr-Carbone (Reefer Madness, The Gallery Players).
