More about Vicki Lynn Mooney ("Broken Heart Land" featured playwright of the evening) - Dobbs Ferry playwright Vicki Lynn Mooney, a member of the Cherokee Nation Tribe has written a trilogy of plays that explore what it means to be a mixed-blood, with a foot in two worlds but truly being part of neither. Mooney takes us to the core of what the real American story is, revealing a history unknown to most Americans.

The three plays of the trilogy, "Broken Heart Land", "Hoop Jumper" and "Thicker Than Oil", trace a fictional retelling of her family history in early 20th century Oklahoma. "Broken Heart Land" will have its world premiere in New York City this fall, directed by Tony White and produced by Ryan Victor Pierce and The Eagle Project. Performances will be Thursday, Nov. 6 thru Sunday, Nov. 16, at the Workshop Theatre Company's Main Stage Theatre, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC.

About The Eagle Project (Producers) - The Eagle Project, founded in 2012 by Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape tribe member and NYC actor Ryan Victor Pierce (aka "Little Eagle") hopes to use theater to foster a community of artists and audience to give the Native American stories their proper place in American Theater. "Broken Heart Land" will be the company's second full production. For more information, visit www.eagleprojectarts.org.
