The Billie Holiday Theatre's Executive Director Marjorie Moon announces the appointment of Kelley Girod as the Theatre's Producing Director.

Girod is the founder and executive producer for The Fire This Time Festival, for which she was awarded nytheatre.com Person of the Year in 2011, and has been featured in American Theatre Magazine, The New York Times, and The Boston Globe. She received her MFA from Columbia University and her BA from Louisiana State University. Artistic Director Jackie Alexander is thrilled to have Girod on board, stating: "Kelley met and exceeded our wish list for a new Producing Director; finding her was truly a God send. Her talent, passion, and sterling reputation within the theatre world will be crucial to BHT's future as we look to re-define our brand."

As Producing Director, Girod's duties include overseeing the revamping of BHT operating procedures and staffing, securing additional funding opportunities, seeking out city-wide partnerships, and partnering with Alexander in expanding BHT programming. Girod notes, "I look forward to broadening the spectrum of programming and outreach by BHT to new communities and artists, while working to assure the theatre's continued growth as an important and vital cultural center in New York."
