Facing PageProductions announced it will produce Sonnet Karaoke - a high octane reading of Shakespeare's sonnets by Broadway stars and Bard lovers - on November 18th at 8:00 pm at Gossip Bar and Restaurant (733 9th Avenue). The event, hosted by Nick Westrate, will benefit the Company's Marathon 2014, a three-plus day non-stop reading of Shakespeare's canon in the spring.

Currently set to read sonnets are Gerry Bamman, Robert Beitzel, Marva Hicks, Saycon Sengbloh, Joey Slotnick, Samantha Soule and Frank Wood. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in advance at http://www.facingpageproductions.com. In the spirit of the evening, attendees may also read their favorite sonnet for a small donation.

Proceeds from the Sonnet Karaoke will benefit Company's Marathon 2014, a continuous, 24-hour-a-day reading series of Shakespeare's canon set for next spring. An exciting part of the evening will be the unveiling of the the 2014 Marathon's reading order, which has been selected by Obie Award-winning actress Kate Mulgrew. Company's Marathon began in Los Angeles 15 years ago, and Facing Page has continued the yearly tradition in New York City, hosting this adventurous and ambitious series, which features well-known actors reading the canon alongside Bard-lovers from all walks of life.
