Phoenix Theatre Ensemble Presents 'GOLDILOCKS & THE THREE BEARS' 12/5 & 12/12

By:

Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, an artist-directed theatre company now in its 6th Season, announces that Co-Artistic Director Kathy Menino's slightly twisted adaptation of Goldilocks and the Three Bears will open on Saturday, December 5 at 11:00 AM and 1:00 pm. It will play again the following Saturday, December 12 at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM at The Wild Project at 195 East 3rd Street between Avenue A and Avenue B.

In this adaptation by Kathy Menino Goldilocks is seen as a spoiled and somewhat demanding diva who is extremely bossy towards a perfectly nice family of bears. This free wheeling 30-minute play is the first part of the 2009 Phoenix for the Family Program and is scheduled for 4 performances only. It is suitable for children 4 and up.

The Phoenix cast will feature Erica Hazel Flory as Goldilocks, with Laura DiCerto, Brian Hopson, Courtney Kochuba, Diana London and Florence Pape rounding out the cast. The director is Rebecca A. Katzman, Set Design is by Justin McCormick and Light Design by Tsubasa Kamei.

All performances will be at The Wild Project in the heart of New York's East Village at 195 East 3rd Street, the newly renovated 99-seat "green" theatre with eco-friendly features like recycled glass tiles, bamboo plywood, low flush toilets, rooftop solar panels and energy-efficient glass windows.

Advance discount passes and single tickets for GOLDILOCK AND THE THREE BEARS can be purchased by calling 212-352-3101 or visiting www.PhoenixTheatreEnsemble.org.

A pay-what-you-can ticket policy will go into effect beginning on December 2.
