NIGHTFALL ON MIRANAGA ISLAND Plays The Magnet Theater, Opens 10/21

By:

From the exciting minds of Justin Moran and Jon Roufaeal who brought you THE SPIDEY PROJECT, last winter's guerilla theater hit and POPE! AN EPIC MUSICAL, last year's Fringe sensation, comes an all-new musical of epic proportions, NIGHTFALL ON MIRANGA ISLAND. Newly formed Compass Theatrical and comedy mecca, the Magnet Theater have teamed up to hoist their sails and embark on a unique theatrical journey unlike any other. Set to open on Friday, October 21, 2011, the show will continue to run every Monday and Friday night at 8:30 PM through December 19th at the Magnet Theater, 254 West 29th Street. With a guarantee of chaos, hilarity, catchy dance numbers, daring sword fights, and a little cross-dressing from this pirate musical, it will be an adventure no one should miss.

The Compass Theatrical team, a new theater company based out of New York City, began work on this new musical almost immediately after the close of THE SPIDEY PROJECT. "When you find amazing, talented people and they're great to work with, you have to keep doing it," says
Justin Moran, director and co-author of NIGHTFALL ON MIRANGA ISLAND. Moran also directed and co-wrote THE SPIDEY PROJECT, which began as a one-night theatrical event and turned into an international internet hit, reported on as far away as Japan. NIGHTFALL ON MIRANGA ISLAND
marks Compass's third musical to play in New York in just over a year. For this adventure Moran has collaborated with writer Jon Roufaeal on the book and lyrics and composers Adam Podd and Matt Podd to write and arrange the strapping and sweeping score that oozes masculinity at
every crescendo.

NIGHTFALL ON MIRANGA ISLAND is a swashbuckling pirate adventure in three musical acts. Our hero, Declan, has been tracking the legendary pirate captain Vicious Martin La Foe for nearly a decade on a quest to rescue his sister who was kidnapped those long years ago. Finally, Declan makes landfall on the lawless Miranga Island, where La Foe is known to make port. As the story unfolds you will be taken through a world of pirates, romance and action the likes of which would
flabbergast Gilbert and Sullivan.

NIGHTFALL ON MIRANGA ISLAND opens Friday, October 21 at the Magnet Theater, 254 West 29th Street and performs Fridays and Mondays at 8:30PM through December 19. Tickets are $18 for general admission and $10 for students and anyone dressed in full pirate attire. Tickets for the
first performance are currently sold out. Tickets are still available for the remaining shows. For videos and more information about the show and tickets visit www.compasstheatrical.com and
