Juliet Echo Productions to Stage REFORM: A PLAY, 1/28-2/11
Juliet Echo Productions will present REFORM: A PLAY, a new experimental play being presented at the gallery space of CULTURE on three upcoming Tuesdays: Jan. 28th, Feb. 4th, and Feb 11th, 2014.
REFORM: A PLAY was created recently by director and playwright Jen Emma Hertel, who came to age as a theater practioner with the Living Theatre, NYU, and the late Bob Sickinger. She has created a piece of system. This play experiments its way through United States history of imprisonment through three characters: Corporate Uncle Sam, Average Joe, and a historical character Alexis Detocqueville. Using a combination of found text, snappy dialogue, and Meyerhold movments, the play entertains, informs, and sometimes incorporates the audience on an issue that all Americans should have a dialogue about.
The cast includes Leonie Ettinger (Citizen), Joe Galan (Coroporate Uncle Sam), Ana Holly (Alexis Detocqueville), Marcos Luis (Modern Prisoner), Thiago Martin (Average Joe), and K'Sandra Nova (Historical Prisoner).
Jen Emma Hertel is a director, playwright, and actor (S.A.G) and REFORM: A PLAY is part of her thesis at New York University.
REFORM: A PLAY runs Tuesday-January 28 @ 7pm-9pm, Tuesday-February 4 7pm-9pm, and Tuesday Febuary 11 8pm-10pm at the gallery of CULTUREfix, 9 CLINTON ST. Tickets are $15 in advance sales, $18 at the door and are available online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/545716 or http://ow.ly/sdkbA.
