Jessica Scherr Presents BETTE DAVIS AIN’T FOR SISSIES 8/12-28

Bette Davis AIN'T FOR SISSIES is a one-woman show written by and starring Jessica Scherr. The show will be presented for the first time in its newest incarnation at the 15th Annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. http://bettedavisaintforsissies.net/
Bette Davis AIN'T FOR SISSIES is set on Academy Awards night 1939. After the LA TIMES prints the names of the winners, Bette knows that Vivian Leigh will win Best Actress for her role in Gone With the Wind. Bette decides to leave the ceremony before the awards presentation begins, but her mother, Ruthie, convinces her to stay until the end. What ensues is an interior dialogue, with historically accurate details, as well as an insight into the struggle and fight of an actress whose voice would not be quelled.

Bette Davis AIN'T FOR SISSIES will debut at the FringeNYC festival on Friday, August 12th, 2011 at 9:15PM at the Kabayitos Theater CSV Cultural and Education Center. The theater is located at 107 Suffolk Street (between Rivington & Delancey Streets), Second Floor. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at: http://www.fringenyc.org/basic_page.php?ltr=B#BETTED
