Variety reports that a multimedia work by acclaimed playwright Charles Mee will be among the highlights of the New York theatre company 3-Legged Dog's upcoming season.

Mee's Fire Island will premiere at 3-Legged Dog in April of 2008.  The article states, "'Island' -- which includes an HD video work, an ongoing Internet presence and the use of new projection tech called 3-D Eyeliner -- will create a large-scale installation and performance that involves more than 100 artists, including Tuvan throat singer Albert Kuvezin, who will perform live and on video."

3LD, a venue hospitable to technologically complex work, will also host a collaboration between Laurie Anderson, South African filmmaker William Kentridge and Danish company Hotel Pro Forma as part of its Artist Residency Program.  Playing in December, the "exploratory, yet-to-be-titled" work will be announced at a later date.

Also playing 3LD with longer residencies will be: Troika Ranch's Loop Diver, in September, Tricksaddle's Wickets, an adaptation of Maria Irene Fornes' Fefu and Her Friends, in January of 2008, the Hourglass Group's Frequency Hopping, in June 2008, The Wind Up Bird Chronicles, an adaptation of Haruki Murakami's novel by filmmaker Stephen Earnhart, in September 2008.  The latter production will feature Bunraku puppetry and Butoh dance.

Mee will be Playwright-in-Residence at New York's Signature Theatre Company for 2007/8.  The company is now presenting his Iphigenia 2.0, with productions of Queens Boulevard (the musical) and the world premiere of Paradise Park to follow.
