CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO returns for a limited engagement beginning October 4 at 3LD Art & Technology Center.

CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO is a live performance documentary derived entirely from the “Black Box” transcripts of six major real-life airline emergencies. Allowing the audience into the tension-filled cockpits of actual flights in distress, CVR is a fascinating portrait of the psychology of crisis and a testament to the ability to live to the last second. What is going on behind that door in the front of the airplane? Who are these people to whom we trust our lives? What do they really do when things go horribly wrong?

CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO runs October 4 - 20, Thursdays & Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 3pm & 7:30pm and Sundays at 5pm. (Note: no show 10/6 at 7:30pm). 3LD Art & Technology Center is located at 80 Greenwich Street (at Rector Street -- accessible from the 1/R/W trains at Rector Street). Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Student and senior tickets are $15 and only available at the door with i.d. Advance tickets are available HERE.

Created in 1999 by Robert Berger, Patrick Daniels and Irving Gregory, CVR premiered in at Collective: Unconscious in NYC. It won critical acclaim and was immediately embraced by the aviation community. CVR won numerous awards including two Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Unique Theatrical Experience and Outstanding Sound Design, and made Time Magazine’s Best Theater Top Ten Plays in 2004. Following the premiere through 2008, CVR toured nationally and internationally.

In August, CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO was filmed in stereoscopic 3D camera technology; the film is expected to be in movie theaters in 2013.

The current production is directed by Patrick Daniels, who is joined onstage by the 2004 cast including Noel Dinneen, Debbie Troche, Nora Woolley, and new cast members Javon McFerrin, Chris Orbach and Joshua Rubin.

CHARLIE VICTOR ROMEO is in residency at 3LD Arts & Technology Center (3ldnyc.org) as an artistic partner in their 3LD/3D+ program. 3LD/3D+ is a new cross-platform production, distribution and documentation system for contemporary performance funded in part by the Rockefeller Foundation Cultural Innovation Fund.

Charlie Victor Romeo (CVR) is made possible in part with public funds from the Manhattan Community Arts Fund, supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
