Actress Vivian Nesbitt Returns to United Solo Theatre Festival

Fresh off a run with Saratoga Shakespeare Company as the Earl of Kent in King Lear, award winning actress Vivian Nesbitt is back in rehearsal for the 10th anniversary celebration of United Solo Theatre Festival.

Her original solo piece The Bark & The Tree was recognized with Best Documentary Play and Best Lighting Design for its New York premiere at United Solo in 2013. The play has since been an official selection of the prestigious Los Angeles Women's Theatre Festival, Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble's Women's Solo Theatre Festival and has delighted audiences as far away as Ireland with its message of hope and courage.

Nesbitt has recently returned to the New York area after many years in the booming New Mexican market where she worked on Breaking Bad with Bryan Cranston and Anna Gunn, The Night Shift, Longmire, and Manhattan with John Benjamin Hickey. Her first ever television appearance was on the premiere episode of Law & Order: SVU. For Vivian who is a writer, performer and singer, returning to the United Solo Theatre Festival feels like coming home.

The Bark & The Tree written and performed by Nesbitt, entertains audiences with a journey of discovery that many can relate to. Alcoholism, depression, and suicide were not the family footsteps that the author/performer wanted to follow. When they threatened to be the ones she was destined for she took action. Setting sail for Ireland in search of a different legacy, she collided with the past, the present and the "Born & Breds." The play bends time and space as she faces the past to create a future and a truth all her own. Discovery and surrender, juxtaposed with the comedy of human nature fill the play with pathos, humor and adventure.

The show takes place at Theater Row, 410 W42nd St, NYC, NY on Friday, September 20, 2019 7:30pm. Tickets can be purchased at TeleCharge.com
