A wolf collides with a young couple's automobile on a snowy New Year's Eve, igniting this triptych on the violence of deception. Unfolding across three relationships, an impotent novelist grasps for affection from his resentful fiancé, a woman longs for the specter of her overbearing ex-girlfriend, and a child discovers her unwitting role in her parents' divorce. Acclaimed playwright Delaney Britt Brewer weaves humor and compassion in this world premiere production of WOLVES.

Delaney Britt Brewer last collaborated with Kids With Guns for the 2007 critically acclaimed production of her play An Octopus Love Story. WOLVES reunites her with Octopus director Mike Klar and actor Josh Tyson (who Time Out called "a 21st Century Rock Hudson"). Brewer is a member of Ensemble Studio Theater's Youngblood Writers Group and also developed WOLVES under the auspices of a Dramatists Guild Fellowship.

The full cast will be announced in the coming weeks.

Three-time Drama Desk nominee (and 59E59 regular) Maruti Evans is lighting and scenic designer. Dallas-based composer and percussionist John Colaruotolo provides the sound design and original score. Costumes are designed by Heather Klar.

Delaney Britt Brewer (playwright) is a writer and performer living in New York. She was a 2008-9 Dramatists Guild Fellow and is a member of Ensemble Studio Theater's playwriting group: Youngblood. Her work has been produced and workshopped at PS122, Center Stage, Ensemble Studio Theater, Theater at St. Clements (for the New York Musical Theater Festival), Theatre Row, The Abingdon, Collective Unconscious, The Chernuchin at the American Theater of Actors, and The Wings Theater. She is also a member of the video art ensemble OtherPeople (www.otherpeeps.com), a recent recipient of a grant from the Experimental TV Center. Delaney has been a member of Kids with Guns since 2006.

Mike Klar (director) is a co-Artistic Director of Kids with Guns, a theater company he founded with collaborator Ben Cikanek in 2006. In his last work with writer Delaney Britt Brewer in 2007, he lent "direction as smooth and transparent as glass" (Blogcritics) to An Octopus Love Story and in 2008 he "directed with vigor" (nytheatre.com) The Night Carter was Bad. Mike and Ben have been producing theater in NYC since 2003 including the 2006 Fringe Festival and Fringe Encore Series productions of The Blue Martini. Mike has a BFA from the University of Delaware.
