Variations Theatre Group continues its commitment to develop new and exciting work with DRAGULA, a new musical by John Arthur Long and Theodore Kastrinos, which will be presented in a special one-night-only performance at the Chain Theatre this Saturday, April 19th at 8pm.

The "G" Spot, a cabaret where transvestites come for a night of carefree fun, is the home of the singing and dancing star Dragula, the stage persona of Peter, a sensitive young man whose only true joy in life is performing as Dragula. The Right Reverend Bobby Swagger is determined to stop Dragula from spreading his "perverse sexuality". Using the horrific Ma Daddy and a special formula provided by Tailgate the lesbian fortuneteller and her herbalist assistants, The Three Bitches, Swagger confronts Dragula. After much soul searching Peter is determined not to be defeated by the bigotry of narrow-minded prejudice and with the support of his sister and his friends at the club, Peter fights back with honesty and a straightforward defiance to prove once and for all that "It's all right to be a transvestite."

The book for DRAGULA is by John Arthur Long and Theodore Kastrinos, with music and lyrics by John Arthur Long, George T. Kastrinos and Theodore Kastrinos. Additional music and vocal arrangements are by Richie Iacona. Featured in the cast are Victor Albaum, David J. Baldwin, Alexandra Kopko, James Lynch, Luis E. Mora, Carly Ozard, Christina Elise Perry, Justin Randolph, and Bill Toscano. DRAGULA is directed by VTG Co-Artistic Director Kirk Gostkowski, with choreography by Ashley Carter and musical direction by Danny Musha.

Admission to this special reading of DRAGULA is free to all, however reservations are a must. To RSVP, visit info@variationstheatregroup.com by April 18th. The Chain Theatre is located at 21-28 45th Road in Long Island City, just ten minutes from Times Square via the 7, E, G, and M trains to Court Square Station.
