A New York return after 22 years! The Alloy Theater Company presents "Tell Me On A Sunday" with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Don Black and Richard Maltby, Jr. and stars 2007 MAC award nominee Maxine Linehan.  The show will run on Sundays from now through May 18th at The Laurie Beechman Theater @The West Bank Café 407 W42nd Street.

Tell Me on A Sunday, Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical, charts the course of a young English hat designer, Emma, newly arrived to New York City in search of adventure, success and of course love.

Originally written as a one woman musical for English musical theatre star Marti Webb, "Tell Me On a Sunday" was combined with Lloyd Webber's "Variations" to form "Song and Dance", a two-act concert. The show, in a revised form, opened on Broadway in 1985 starring Bernadette Peters, who won a Tony Award for her performance. The Alloy Theater Company recreates the musical in its original one-act form in the intimate setting of the Laurie Beechman Theater.

Emma is played by 2007 MAC award nominee Maxine Linehan. This up and coming Irish actress has international credits which include Nunsense, The Sound of Music, Oliver!, Crazy for You, Nunsense II, A Kind of Loving, Lovers, The Children of Lir and The Man of La Mancha.  Others who have sung the score, which includes such memorable tunes as "Tell Me On a Sunday," "Unexpected Song," "Take That Look Off Your Face" and "Come Back with the Same Look in Your Eyes," include Lulu, Sarah Brightman, Gemma Craven and Alice Ripley, the latter at the Kennedy Center.

Director Jeff Talbott, while known primarily as an actor (SLY FOX on Broadway, many television and regional credits), has directed two New York presentations of the new musical DEAR SANTA.  He also directed productions of the Ionesco play THE NEW TENANT and his own play TENDER while attending the Yale School of Drama. Music Director Chris Tilley has worked as staff accompanist at Elon University and as Music Director at several regional theatres including Mill Mountain Theatre, New Stage Theatre, and the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Chris was an orchestrator for Broadway Backwards 3 at the American Airlines Theatre and will return this summer to Mill Mountain Theatre in Virginia for Into the Woods.

An exclusive line of hats have been designed for this production by New York milliner Ellen Christine. Ellen's designs mix antique textiles and trims to capture the fanciful nature of the modern woman. She has also worked with theatrical costume-maker Barbara Matera for Beauty and the Beast.

The Alloy Theater Company was founded in 2008 and is firmly rooted in the collaborative artistic process. The company devotes its resources to developing exciting revivals and original works, maintaining a living wage for its artists, and offering outreach programs to students in and around New York City.
