SHOWGIRLS! THE MUSICAL! Set for Limited Off-Broadway Run at Theatre 80, Begin. 12/6

Showgirls! The Musical!, the hit musical parody of the cult classic film Showgirls, will begin performances at Off-Broadway's Theatre 80 on Friday, December 6, 2013. This strictly limited engagement will run through December 28 only. All seats at all performances are $25.

Showgirls! The Musical! is written and directed by Bob and Tobly McSmith, whose Bayside! The Musical!, the parody of Saved By The Bell, is also playing at Theatre 80. April Kidwell stars as Nomi Malone, the role originated by Elizabeth Berkley.

Showgirls! The Musical! follows the beautiful drifter with a secret past, Nomi, as she journeys from stripper to showgirl in Las Vegas. What will Nomi sacrifice on her rise to fame? Who will she sleep with along the way? Will she ever like brown rice and vegetables?

Showgirls! The Musical! has been met with universal critical acclaim from The New York Times, Gawker, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Post, Logo, Slate, The Huffington Post, After Ellen, After Elton and Queerty.

The cast of Showgirls! The Musical! features April Kidwell as Nomi Malone, Rori Nogee as Cristal Connors, John Duff as Kyle MacLachlan, Marcus Desion as Molly/James and Philip McLeod as Gay with Amanda Nicholas and Natalie Wagner as the Showgirls.

Showgirls! The Musical! features book, music, lyrics and direction by Bob and Tobly McSmith (Bayside! The Musical!, JonBenet! Murder Mystery Theater!). Scenic design is by Bryan Hartlett (Bayside! The Musical!). Costume design is by Marcus Desion (Bayside! The Musical!). Lighting design is by Adam Lash (Bayside! The Musical!). Showgirls! The Musical! is produced by John Capo and MediumFace Productions.

Performances will be held every Friday and Saturday in December. All shows begin at 10:30pm. A full bar is available before each performance.

Special DOUBLE FEATURE passes will be available for purchase for $40. DOUBLE FEATURE passes include a ticket to Showgirls! The Musical! and Bayside! The Musical! on either the same night or two different nights.
