The American Theatre of Actors concentrates on dark New York back stories at the start of its 41st Season and Ken Coughlin is at the forefront.

The towering, earthy actor who won acclaim as a mob boss in both The Spanish Harlem Story and Mirrors (both written by Steve Silver) is now directing a play of equal edge.

THE SANDMAN, written by Lynn Navarra and directed by Mr. Coughlin, tells the story of two beat cops, moonlighting in
construction, caught up in a battle between a pub owner and the Irish mob... NYC circa 1979.

Featured in the cast are Michael Bordwell, AJ Converse, Ken Coughlin, Ben Guralnik, Valerie O'Hara, Meredith Flood Rust, Jonathan Troise, Shane Tunney, Greg Valiente and Dan Lane Williams, with Fight Choreography by AJ Converse and Shane Tunney.

Performances for this world premiere are Aug 3 - 6 @ 8pm; Aug 10 - 13 @ 8pm; with 3pm matinees on August 7 & 14 at The John Cullum Theatre of the American theatre of Actors.
