Ruckdashel joins cast of 'Body Without a Head'

Brandon Ruckdashel (Ascension, Twist) Joins the Cast of A BODY WITHOUT A HEAD , Running April 28 through May 2, 2008 at manhattantheatresource.

Following critically acclaimed turns in Ascension and Twist: The Musical, Brandon Ruckdashel joins the cast of Veritas Productions' A Body Without A Head, a theatrical fable written and directed by George R. Carr. Performances of the world premiere play run April 28 through May 2, 2008 at manhattantheatresource (177 MacDougal Street).

A BODY WITHOUT A HEAD is a theatrical adaptation of George R. Carr's arresting series poems. The poems are an homage to Saint Torpes, the renowned gladiator and namesake for beautiful St. Tropez. Written during one of Carr's trips to the famed isle, the odes are for anyone anywhere who at anytime has lost their head to love.

Brandon Ruckdashel will portray the enigmatic Torpes. In 2006, Ruckdashel wowed audiences and critics alike with his no-holds barred performance in Ascension. The New York Times raved that Ruckdashel has "the intense blond good looks of a young Brad Pitt with a soupçon of James Dean." BackStage noted, "it is Brandon Ruckdashel as the young Lorenzo who brings real excitement to the show." Ruckdashel earned equally great reviews for his recent turn in the Los Angeles production of the Drama Desk-nominated musical Twist. Variety hailed him "a plausible Adonis" while LA Weekly praised his "perfect level of bedroom-eyed, saucy innocence."

A BODY WITHOUT A HEAD also stars Courtney Allen, James Edward Becton, Sarah Doudna, Matt Drago, Olivia Julien, Brian Karim, Catherine Kjome, Terrence Michael McCrossan, Barbara Mundy, John Van Ness Philip, and Stephen Seidel.  The creative team
includes Andrew Loren Resto (production design), Drew Vanderburg (lighting design), Amodeo Petti (marketing agency), and Melissa Riker (choreographer).  Gotham Wine Events is a production partner. The production's wardrobe is provided by Kevin Carrigan, Creative Director of ck Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein.
