ROOMS to End Run May 10; Cast Recording to be Produced by Time Life

By:

Van Hill Entertainment announced today that the Off-Broadway premiere of ROOMS a rock romance, starring Leslie Kritzer and Doug Kreeger, will conclude its run at New World Stages this Sunday, May 10. At that point the production will have played 64 performances and twenty previews.

Time Life is set to record the Off-Broadway Cast Recording of ROOMS a rock romance. The recording will be produced by multiple Grammy® nominee Robert Sher (who also produced Time Life's release of the 2008 recording of Gypsy) and Producing Associate is Brandon Wardell. The recording will take place May 12th in Manhattan. A spring release is planned.

ROOMS a rock romance begins in 1970s Glasgow where Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter meets Ian, a reclusive rocker. The two quickly become entangled creatively and romantically. Their music takes them first to London and ultimately to New York City, where they discover the vibrant new music scene and create an intimate partnership, their love deepening while their personalities drive them apart. A five-piece band accompanies these two characters as they search for the balance between ambition and happiness.

ROOMS a rock romance has music and lyrics by Paul Scott Goodman and book by Goodman and Miriam Gordon, and is directed by Scott Schwartz. Music Supervision, Music Arrangements and Orchestrations are by Jesse Vargas.

The critically acclaimed production was just nominated for three Outer Critics Circle Awards including Best Off-Broadway Musical. ROOMS a rock romance opened on March 16th at New World Stages to rave reviews: "A sweet love story, delicious comic moments! Ms Kritzer is funny and fabulous! Mr. Kreeger is solid and strong. They mesh perfectly!" - The New York Times; "ROOMS is delightful, clever and poignant! Fun musical theater rock ‘n' roll with an edge, youthful romance and fresh comedy!" - Associated Press; "We have a new contender for Best Musical! - Broadway World.
