The Pearl Theatre Company presents CURTAIN UP CLASSICS for Terrence McNally's And Away We Go, with Kate Farrington, Interim Artistic Director and Dramaturg, and Carol Schultz ('97), Resident Acting Company Member on Saturday, November 23rd, 11am at The Pearl Theatre (555 West 42nd Street). Free.

When Shakespeare sat down to write, he knew the tone of voice, the sense of humor, the timing, the quirks, the all-around style of the actors who would bring his plays to life. As did Molière, as did Chekhov, and as did dozens of others across the centuries. Today, the number of true resident acting companies has dwindled to the point where it is rare for a playwright to have that kind of intimacy with his or her actors.

And so, in the tradition of the great companies of the past, The Pearl and Terrence McNally have come together on this adventure, telling the stories of theatre companies in the voices of those who have lived them.

Join Interim Artistic Director Kate Farrington and Resident Acting Company member Carol Schultz ('97) for this free informal discussion on the world, the importance, and the story behind the story of the World Premiere of And Away We Go.
