The New Victory Theater presents Parallel Exit's hit TIME STEP, a work blending tap, percussion and physical comedy, from April 9 through April 18, 2010. Premiering to critical acclaim at Joyce Soho in November 2008, TIME STEP at The New Vic will feature additional characters and choreography.

TIME STEP fuses the tap stylings of Astaire and Kelly with the comedy of Chaplin and Keaton to tell the tale of three hilarious hoofers. Through tap dance, they evoke the world of classic movie musicals with a story that shuffles between past and present, juxtaposing the characters' performances from their youth with their later-in-life attempts to relive their heyday.

Directed by Mark Lonergan, TIME STEP is performed by Danny Gardner, Brent McBeth, and Derek Roland, and will feature two additional cast members: clown Joel Jeske (Big Apple Circus, Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus) and percussionist Mike Dobson (Big Apple Circus, Bindlestiff Family Cirkus), who provide live music and play a variety of cameo roles throughout. Choreography is by Ryan Kasprzak, Brent McBeth and Derek Roland.

Projection design is by Ron Amato, lighting design is by Keith Truax, and sound design is by Duane McKee.

TIME STEP is best for ages 6 and up.
