No.11 Productions presents Lysistrata by Aristophanes as part of the 13th annual New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC FringeAL FRESCO Performance Series. Lysistrata is directed and adapted by Julie Congress and Ryan Emmons. The show runs August 21, 28, and 29 at 2pm and August 23 at 4:30pm. Lysistrata is free and open to the public at the Central K Pit at Sara D. Roosevelt Park between Broome and Chrystie St.

This sharp, witty and timely adaptation is accessible to theatergoers of all ages and keeps the audience constantly laughing. The women of Athens, led by Lysistrata, "refuse to open the gates of Greece." The men have quite a hard time as they battle the women for a little loving attention as well as funding for the war. This production is a farcical, fresh and fun look at Aristophanes' hysterical play.

No.11 Productions is a not-for-profit theatre company based in New York City. No.11 is an ensemble of theatre artists continuously learning, growing and becoming as a company. They strive to create a wide variety of theatre that inspires audiences to become active participants in the world. Asymptotically working towards truth, we are dedicated to constantly questioning our world by presenting different perspectives - we juxtapose seeming reality with the unexpected.
