Acclaimed street artist Bradley Theodore has painted two original murals in downtown Manhattan celebrating the 60th Anniversary of the OBIE Awards, Off Broadway's Highest Honor. Presented by the American Theatre Wing and The Village Voice, the 2015 OBIE Awards will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 at Webster Hall (125 East 11th Street). Tickets to the ceremony are now available via www.ObieAwards.com.

Explaining his inspiration for the murals, which are located at 19 Stanton St. and Cultura Pizza E Vitta at 151 Mott Street, Mr. Theodore said, "Classic theater was always created by bands of creative individuals that followed their hearts to perform in theaters using, most of the time, the outside walls of castles and towns as theater, and eventually becoming the main performance within the castle. In today's world Broadway is the castle and off-Broadway the outside walls. Using traditional classical subject I want to pay tribute to the future new classics in the making."

Since the early days of Bradley Theodore's career he has been inspired by what he sees around him and in particular the people that make up our media-driven world. Born in Turks & Caicos, Bradley has a fresh perspective on art and what constitutes an expression of thought. Now living in New York City, he has become an integrated part of the art scene - creating his sometimes controversial, but always inspiring installations. Art has been the life force that has launched Bradley into the mainstream and into the media spotlight. Due to his unique and notable form of art visible throughout the cities of New York and Tokyo, Bradley has often been described as Jean-Michel Basquiat meets Banksy. Bradley believes that the audience of his art should be the reviewers of his art. Thus he is dedicated in making his art available for all to see in the streets of international cities. His commitment in bringing art to the public is underlined by his involvements in public viewings. He recent work, Anna Wintour x Karl Lagerfeld mural and Cara Delevinge x Kate Moss mural, can be seen on Kenmare Street.

As was previously announced, the American Theatre Wing has entered into a partnership with The Village Voice to co-present The OBIE Awards,.
