"TalkOut Mondays" (after the performance) continues April 19th with David McReynolds (American historian and literary critic) & Matthew Scheck (cast member) at the critically acclaimed hit show "The Temperamentals" by Jon Marans at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Daryl Roth, Stacy Shane and Martian Entertainment are presenting the new American play. Thomas Jay Ryan portrays Harry Hay and Michael Urie (TV's "Ugly Betty") is Rudi Gernreich. Rounding out the cast of five multiple talented actors are Arnie Burton, Matthew Schneck, and Sam Breslin Wright. It is directed by Jonathan Silverstein. The Set & Costume design is by Clint Ramos, lighting by Josh Bradford and Daniel Kluger is the sound designer. The show has received two Lortel Award Nominations: Outstanding Play and Michael Urie Outstanding Lead Actor. (2 hrs 05 mins including intermission)

David McReynolds has been primarily active in the pacifist and socialist movements. He "came out" as a young student at UCLA after an encounter with Alvin Ailey, in 1969 in WIN magazine, published by War Resisters League, which in addition to his article, carried articles by the late Paul Goodman and Allen Ginsberg. He went on to work for War Resisters League for 39 years until he retired in 1999, and was the Socialist Party's candidate for President in 1980 and 2000. Arrested a number of times over the years, he was deeply involved in the movement against the Vietnam War and traveled abroad in Europe and Asia, including trips to Vietnam, to help organize international opposition to the US actions. Retired, he lives with two cats on the lower east side.

Matthew Schneck (from the cast of "The Temperamentals" who plays Bob Hull and others) Some of his theatre credits include Broadway: London Assurance (Roundabout). International: The Merchant of Venice (Royal Shakespeare Company). Off-Broadway: A 12 lb. Discourse (Soho Rep; co-written/performed with Pete Simpson); The Merchant of Venice, The Jew of Malta, Antony and Cleopatra (all with TFANA). Regional: Gross Indecency (Alley Theatre); The Little Foxes, Much Ado About Nothing (Shakespeare Theatre of DC), Romeo and Juliet (Folger); The Beauty Queen of Leenane (Actor's Theatre of Louisville); Major Barbara (San Jose Rep); Restoration Comedy (Seattle Rep; World Premiere)among others. Matthew is the author of five plays. Among them: Badge (The Rattlestick Playwright's Theatre/prod. by Beacon Productions), A 12LB Discourse (Soho Rep), Attic, The Real Meaning of Things.

Mattachine Society & was fired in 1957 as an astrophysicist for being gay. A public apology to him from the Obama administration was made this year in a public ceremony); Tom Kirdahy (playwright); Jim McGreevey (former Governor of New Jersey, he was the first and, to date, the only openly gay state governor in United States history); Terrence McNally (award-winning playwright); Daryl Roth (producer 6 Pulitzer Prize winning plays); David Rothenberg (political activist, Fortune Society, WBAI Radio) * subject to change/availability
Performances are: Monday; Thursday; Friday 8pm; Saturday 2pm & 8pm; Sunday 3pm & 7pm. Tickets are: $65 and for Saturday evening $69. Premiums seats are also available.
