Kelowna, B.C. January 15, 2010. Canadian Actor/Writer Alison Lynne Ward is excited to have her third play, ¼ Life Crisis, appearing as part of the 2010 New York FRIGID Festival.

"The quarter-life crisis occurs shortly after a young person - usually an educated professional, enters the "real world". After entering adult life and coming to terms with its responsibilities, some individuals find themselves in a world of career stagnation and extreme insecurity." (Wikipedia)

Alison Lynne Ward knows these dilemmas all too well: she is young, educated and facing the challenge of handling society's pressures. Furthermore, she is trying to do this in the overly competitive entertainment industry. So like a pro-active performer, she decided to write a show about her predicament. The result is a dynamic one person show taking the audience on an energetic journey of a young professional as she works to establish her career, hold onto her dreams, drown out the voices of parents, peers and friends, to eventually discover the importance of claiming yourself and being true to who you are.

This is Alison's third, recently revised production of "1/4 Life Crisis". The show has previously been produced in Toronto at the Diesel Playhouse, and in Halifax at the Atlantic Fringe Festival in 2007 as one of two shows in "Ready, Set, Life!" In The Chronicle Herald, her play was described as "charming and funny... quirky, with good writing." This time around, Alison is pleased to have director Robert Sterling on board as Director.

A multi-talented dancer, writer and actor, Alison holds a B.F.A degree in Theatre from York University , a diploma from Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and has trained extensively at Toronto 's Second City in Improvisation. She has performed and produced two of her own plays, Hungry Woman's Breakfast and Ready, Set, Life! in Toronto and Halifax .

Robert Sterling is a graduate of the American Academy of Arts in New York City and has directed numerous productions in the U.S. and Canada . He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Stratford Festival Theater in Stratford , CT , President of Theatre Kelowna Society in Kelowna , BC and has participated in over 60 theatrical productions throughout his career.
