The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) will extend the critically acclaimed rock musical BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON a second time. The musical will now play an additional three weeks, through Sunday, May 30. A co-production with Center Theatre Group and in association with Les Freres Corbusier, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is written and directed by Alex Timbers and features music and lyrics by Michael Friedman.

Tickets for the three-week extension are on sale now. For the newly extended dates, May 11 through May 30, the performance schedule has been modified to include a 7 p.m. curtain on Tuesday evenings; the rest of the schedule will remain the same, with 8 p.m. shows on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday; 5 p.m. and 9:30 shows on Saturday; and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. shows on Sunday.

On Saturday evenings during the extension (May 16, May 23, and May 30), the 9:30 performance will be an "Emo-Cratic Party," where all tickets are sold for the populist price of $49 and every audience member will receive a free drink ticket, redeemable for beer, wine, cocktails, or soda; all beverages can be enjoyed in the theater.

"We've loved Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson for a long time, but the overwhelming response from the audience has shocked even us," said Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis. "What an extraordinary tribute to Alex Timbers, Michael Friedman and this amazing company! Populism, yeah, yeah!"

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, an audacious mix of historical fact and invention, redefines America's controversial seventh president-the man who invented the Democratic Party, drove the Indians west, and ultimately doubled the size of our nation-with a raucous blend of outrageous comedy, anarchic theatricality and an infectious emo rock score.

The BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON cast features River Aguirre as Lyncoya; James Barry as Male Soloist; Michael Crane as Clay/Blackhawk; Michael Dunn as Calhoun; Greg Hildreth as Red Eagle; Jeff Hiller as John Quincy Adams; Lucas Near-Verbrugghe as Martin Van Buren; Maria Elena Ramirez as Rachel; Kate Cullen Roberts as Elizabeth; Ben Steinfeld as Monroe; Benjamin Walker as Andrew Jackson; Colleen Werthmann as The Storyteller; and Emily Young as Female Soloist.

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON features scenic design by Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Bart Fasbender, and choreography by Danny Mefford.
