Auditions will be held in Madrid for the first production of Avenue Q in Spain (Avenida Q El Musical). This will be the first time this Tony-winning show opens in Spain thanks to El Reló Producciones and directed by Gabriel Olivares, and the second time it's performed in Spanish, after the Mexican production in 2008. Avenida Q will open in late August 2010 at Teatro Nuevo Apolo in Madrid.

In these auditions they're looking for 4 male and 3 female actors and singers trained in musical theatre and puppes, between 20 and 30.

Those who will be chosen in the auditions will be also trained in a puppet workshop, taught by the creative team of the show for free. All the information about the auditions can be found in the official website of the show.

Avenue Q, with music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, and book by Jeff Whitty is based on Sesame Street. But in this funny show puppets are facing troubles such as racism, porn, drugs, politics or homosexuality. It premiered in March 2003 in the Vineyard Theatre in Off-Broadway, directed by Jason Moore, and it was lately transfered to John Golden Theatre On Broadway in July the same year. It won 3 Tonys for Best Book, Best Score and Best Musical in 2004. West End embraced the show in 2006.
