Attic Theater Company to Host Reading of John Tillotson's THE FACE OF HEAVEN, 11/11

The Attic Theater Company presents THE FACE OF HEAVEN, a staged reading of a new play by John Tillotson, directed by Laura Braza. The reading will take place on Tuesday, November 11 at 7:30 PM in the The Ellington Room at Manhattan Plaza (400 West 43rd Street - 2nd Floor). The reading is FREE and open to the public. In John TIllotson's THE FACE OF HEAVEN, what started out as an innocent telephone call to bring notoriety to a small regional theatre spins out of control, affecting careers and testing the bonds of a tightly knit family of friends in NYC who have gathered on the anniversary of the death of one of their own.

THE FACE OF HEAVEN will be read by Steven Hauck (The Velocity of Autumn, Irena's Vow, "Boardwalk Empire"), Michael Labaddia (The Attic's Strictly Dishonorable), Jodie Lynne McClintock (A Long Day's Journey Into Night, Flight 93), Anne Newhall (Blame It on Beckett), Ray Virta (An Enemy of the People, Arcadia), and Jessica Wortham.

John Tillotson (Playwright). As an actor, John credits include: Broadway/MTC: Enemy of the People (2012). Off-Broadway: La Mama, Mint Theater, Pearl Theatre, The Acting Company, York Theatre Co., Young Playwright's Inc. Europe: Frankfurt & Vienna's English Theatres (Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Paris' Opera-Comiqué (Phantom). National: Shakespeare Theatre Co/DC, Guthrie, Barrington Stage, McCarter, Cincinnati Playhouse, Great Lakes Theater, Long Wharf, Triad Stage, Utah & Alabama Shakespeare Festivals. Tour: Sound of Music, Radio City Christmas Spectacular. TV & Film: "Anna", "Die Hard with a Vengeance", "Law & Order". As a playwright: Independence Day: An Old Play to Pay New Debt, Truth Serum and Theatrikals.

LAURA BRAZA (Director) is a freelance director, producer, script editor, and teaching artist in addition to helming the Attic as Artistic Director. Directing credits for the Attic include Moonchildren, Dark Rapture, Wonderful World, This One Time in Last Chance, The Time of Your Life, The Tutors, The Notebook of Trigorin and Strictly Dishonorable. She has also produced and directed numerous staged readings and workshops for the Attic. Recent directing credits include The Dispute and If You Give a Pig a Pancake (Hangar Theater); Henry VI Part 2 and Red Light Winter (UNC School of the Arts); Speed-the-Plow, Escape from Happiness and Women of Lockerbie (Stella Adler/NYU),The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and The Importance of Being Earnest (Pius XI Theater Lab), and work at NYMF, Manhattan Theater Source, Dixon Place, and Atlantic Theater Company's Stage II. Laura has assistant directed several critically acclaimed productions, including Love Child and a one-night revival of The Good Thief with Carl Forsman, as well as The Temperamentals and The Dining Room with Jonathan Silverstein.
