Amas Musical Theatre Set for World Premiere of Musical SIGNS OF LIFE, 2/16-3/21

Amas Musical Theatre, in association with Snap-Two Productions presents the world premiere of the musical 'Signs of Life' opening February 16 and running through March 21.

In Prague on the eve of World War II, art student Lorelei Schumann has the world at her feet. But her whole life changes in an instant when she is sent with her friends and family to Theresienstadt, Hitler's "City for the Jews," where her survival depends upon her participation in the Nazi propaganda effort. She risks her life to tell the truth and discovers who she is as a woman, a Jew, and an artist. Book by Peter Ullian lyrics by Len Schiff music by Joel Derfner

Amas Musical Theatre is New York's award-winning pioneer in diversity and multiculturalism in the performing arts since it was founded in 1968 by legendary actress and visionary Rosetta LeNoire (1911-2002). Amas ("you love" in Latin) is devoted to the creation, development and professional production of new American musicals through the celebration of minority perspectives, the emergence of new artistic talent, and to the training and encouragement of inner city young people.

The West Side YMCA unveiled its newly renovated 79-year-old Marjorie S. Deane Little Theater on April 7, 2008. It offers West Side youth, adults and families affordable access to all aspects of theatre coursework as well as providing a new space for staging a diverse selection of professional shows, readings, lectures, improv acts, and much more.
