The Sunday Series at Abingdon hosts a presentation of Charles Messina's new play "CALM THE LIGHT" on Sunday, September 27th at 7:00pm.

This special one night only presentation is in advance of the Abingdon Theatre Company's main stage production of Messina's comedy A ROOM OF MY OWN, which opens in the spring, with preview performances beginning on February 19, 2016 in The June Havoc Theatre.

CALM THE LIGHT is a play about love and loss, and is dedicated to Messina's dear friend Richard Handman who passed away earlier this year in a rather tragic and untimely manner.

The talented cast includes Joli Tribuzio, Johnny Tammaro, Nick Fondulis, Concetta Rose Rella, and Michael Barbieri.

Messina has become a strong voice on the NY Theater scene. In addition to directing the long-running hit show The Accidental Pervert, starring Andrew Goffman, he also helmed the plays Mercury: The Afterlife and Times of a Rock God and Cirque Jacqueline. Messina also penned the upcoming film Monkey's Nest, starring Mickey Rourke. For more info, visit www.charlesmessina.com.

CALM THE LIGHT will be a one-night only benefit presentation at The Abingdon Theatre with all proceeds going to support the programs of the not-for-profit Abingdon Theatre Company.
