59E59 Theaters is proud to host numerous innovative American productions each year before their journey across the Atlantic to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe during 59E59's annual EAST TO EDINBURGH festival.

Created as a way to help shows get on their feet before flying off to Scotland, EAST TO EDINBURGH simulates the same production constraints that all shows experience during the Festival, while giving them a clean, comfortable and nurturing space to fine-tune their productions. This whirlwind three-week festival reflects some of the most adventurous theater from artists across the United States and gives New York audiences a small sampling of the cultural extravaganza that is the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Featured in this year's festival include the return of last year's East to Edinburgh sensation Jeff Kreisler with JEFF KREISLER'S GET RICH CHEATING, a hilariously topical primer on bilking billions out of unsuspecting rubes. Carlo D'Amore's beautifully rendered solo show NO PAROLE, based on his flamboyant, con-artist mother, comes to New York from a sold out run in San Francisco prior to heading to Scotland. 59E59 favorite Austin Pendleton returns to direct Susan Stein's new play ETTY, which is the fascinating story of Etty Hillesum, considered the adult counterpart to Ann Frank.

This year, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe launches on August 7 and runs through August 31. With a record-breaking 2,098 shows descending on the beautiful city of Edinburgh for three short weeks, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest and most famous arts festival in the world.
