Second Stage Theatre kicks off its 29th season with the New York Premiere of Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry, directed by Pam MacKinnon and featuring Johanna Day, Bill Pullman, and Dallas Roberts.  The production begins previews on Friday, October 19; opening on Sunday, November 11 at 6:30PM at Second Stage Theatre, (307 West 43rd Street).  Tickets may be purchased by calling the Second Stage Theatre Box Office at 212-246-4422 or online at www.2ST.com.

"Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winner Edward Albee delves deeper into his 1958 play The Zoo Story by adding a first-act, Homelife, leading to Peter's (Bill Pullman) fateful meeting with Jerry (Dallas Roberts) on a park bench in Central Park," describe press notes.

The 2007-08 theatre season – during which Edward Albee will turn 80 on March 12, 2008 – will feature four major productions of works by collectively entitled "The Albee Season."  In addition to Peter and Jerry, the season will see Me, Myself and I at the McCarter Theatre, The Sandbox and The American Dream at Cherry Lane Theatre, and Occupant at Signature Theatre Company.  "This season-long array of Albee plays serves as a reminder why Mr. Albee is widely-regarded as America's greatest living playwright, most notably on the occasion of his milestone birthday," state notes.

Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry will have scenic design by Neil Patel; costume design by Teresa Squire; lighting design by Kevin Adams.  The play had its world premiere in June, 2004 at Hartford Stage.

Edward Albee's Peter and Jerry will be performed through Sunday, December 9 at Second Stage Theatre (307 West 43rd Street, just west of 8th Avenue) on the following schedule: Tuesday at 7PM, Wednesday - Saturday at 8PM, Wednesday & Saturday at 2PM, and Sunday at 3PM. Note: All evening performances the week of November 12 will begin at 7:00PM. Matinee curtain times remain the same.  There will be 2 & 7PM performances on Sunday, October 21 and Sunday, November 25.  There will be an additional 8PM performance on Monday, November 19 and no performance on Thanksgiving, November 22.
