Scorched Earth is an intriguing courtroom drama that examines what happens when a community must face up to its racial heritage after a tragic event shakes it to its core. Part mystery, part legal thriller, it is a story of crime and punishment set in a small Virginia mill town during one brutal, hot and unforgiving summer that lays bare the potential of the human heart to hate-and ultimately to heal. The two were introduced by a friend of Rosen's, who wasn't able to make the wedding, as a result of the weather and warnings throughout all the boroughs. The BroadwayWorld.com News Desk stayed feverish all weekend while the couple said 'I Do', as news was coming fast about theatre cancellations, schedule changes and travel advisories in addition to all things that were happening in other parts of the country and the world, not affected by the Northeast's local weather.

(06/06/2011) - Wayside Theatre Artistic Director Warner Crocker announced today the performance of Reunion, A Musical Epic in Miniature which will open Wayside Theatre's 50th Golden Anniversary Season. The musical is written by Jack Kyrieleison, Ron Holgate and Michael O'Flaherty. The production is one of the planned events for the National 150th Anniversary of the Civil War. Reunion, A Musical Epic in Miniature begins performances on June 4 and closes on July 2.

(11/24/2010) - Irving Berlin's White Christmas makes its Richmond, Va., stage debut this year at the historic Empire Theatre. The show, produced by Barksdale Theatre, opened November 19 and will run through January 9. It is directed by Patti D'Beck, who last year won the Richmond Theatre Critics Circle awards for best direction of a musical and best choreography for Barksdale's Thoroughly Modern Millie (which won 10 awards total). Like many of her leading players in White Christmas, D'Beck is a Broadway veteran, having performed in or associate-choreographed such shows as Pippin, A Chorus Line, Evita, Grease and Bells Are Ringing.

(08/29/2010) - Wayside Theatre, in Middletown, VA, presents the musical comedy, STRIKING 12, as its third production of the 2010/2011 season from August 28th to September 25th. Opening Night is Sunday, August 29 at 6:30pm. The remaining schedule of performances is Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday's at 2:30 pm. Ticket prices are $30 to $25 dollars for adults. Prices for children 5 to 17 are $10 for any performance. Discounts are available for students and seniors.
