Lakewood Theatre Company will present their annual Holiday Santa breakfast production of The Peppermint Bear Show.

Auditions, by appointment, will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 starting at 2:30pm with a group read/improv/dance session at 3:30.

The directors are casting actors ages teens – adult for the musical. Actors with improvisational skills is a plus. All ethnicities and experience levels are encouraged to audition and all actors receive remuneration.

Audition Location: Lakewood Theatre Company at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

This year’s production, Peppermint Bear Asks Who Needs Sneeds is directed and choreographed by Laura Loy. The book and lyrics are by Michael Snider with music and music direction by Kurt Misar.

Performances: December 9, 10, 16, 17, and 19-22 at 9:00 and 11:00 AM.

Please review the schedule of rehearsals BEFORE you secure an audition appointment online. Be sure to list ALL conflicts between October 14 – December 22, 2023. Conflicts not listed at the time of the audition may not be honored.

Rehearsal/Performance Schedule: Tentative rehearsal schedule will include Sat/Sun Oct 14 – Nov 12. Weekday evenings will be added after November 13 till the production scheduled opening Saturday, Dec. 9. The performance dates are Saturdays, Dec. 9 and 16 and Sundays Dec. 10 and 17. There will also be weekday morning performances 9am-12:00pm (Tue – Fri) during the Christmas Break Tue-Fri, Dec 19 – 22.

The Story: When Cecil and Simon Sneed show up at the North Pole the only thing they want is to nab the keys to Santa’s sleigh and steal all the Christmas presents. Tricking Mort the elf into helping them, their plan is nearly foolproof until Santa and the Peppermint Bear uncover their plot. Will Santa, Peppermint Bear and the elves be able to stop the Sneeds and save Christmas?

About The Peppermint Bear Shows: They first premiered at Portland’s Lipman’s Department Store in Portland Oregon and became a popular Holiday tradition for over 30 years. The shows have also been produced in New York and countless cities on the east coast, mid-west, and Hawaii.

Lakewood Theatre’s Holiday Breakfast Theatre productions have been an annual Lakewood Theatre tradition for over 30 years. Audience members enjoy a special holiday continental breakfast 1/2 hour before the show and performers interact with young audience members and are available to take pictures following each performance with a man in a red suit!
