Seeking submissions for only for below principal roles in THE BODYGUARD the musical. This a shared co-production between the Seven Thirty Theatre in Chicago and KaidyDid Production of Indianapolis Indiana. Cast will perform both in Chicago and in Indianapolis. Casting "The Bodyguard," a musical. Synopsis: Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. A breathtakingly romantic thriller, "The Bodyguard" features a host of irresistible classics including 'Queen of the Night', 'So Emotional', 'One Moment in Time', 'Saving All My Love', 'Run to You', 'I Have Nothing', 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody' and one of the biggest selling songs of all time – 'I Will Always Love You.' CHARACTERS
Rachel Marron (Female, 25-40) – A famous singer/actress who is at the top of her game! Sexy, confident and self-sufficient. Must be an EXCEPTIONAL powerhouse singer (Whitney Houston). G3 to F5 (belt) should be very comfortable with pop rock, gospel etc. ETHNICITY: African American Nicki Marron (Female, 25-40) - Rachel's older sister, a very talented singer who has taken a back seat to her sister’s rising star. Quiet type but attractive. Must be a very strong singer. Nicki must have a very soulful, gospel-tinged voice. She sings ballads in the show and should have a warm resonance, excellent pitch and an ability to riff. Range from G below middle C to E at top of staff. ETHNICITY: African American Frank Farmer – A former CIA Agent Playing Age: Mid/late 20’s to late 40’s. He need not be a singer, just have the confidence to sing in front of a theatre audience. Bill Devaney – Rachel Marron’s long-standing Manager/Guardian Angel Playing Age: 50 – 60 (non-singing) Tony – Rachel Marron’s security Playing Age: 30 – 40 Sy Spector – Rachel Marron’s Publicist Playing Age: 30 – 45 Stalker – Rachel Marron’s Stalker Playing Age: 30 – 45 Ray Court – An experienced and knowledgeable CIA Agent Playing Age: Mid/late 30’s to late 40’s Fletcher – Rachel Marron’s son Playing Age: 11-13yrs old: Should be a strong boy singer with an innate knowledge of pop/soul idiom. Early Michael Jackson should be used as a reference. Needs to be able to sing a top E and have strong pitch and an ability to riff. URGENTLY SEEKING TECHNICAL DANCERS
Looking for strong commercial dancers with good jazz and Ballet Technique. Experienced with hip hop, video styling, free style, Latin salsa partnering and Pas de Deux would be plus, but not a requirement. Seeking Female Background Vocalists – Must be a strong singer, particularly soul/gospel is a plus. Range: G below mid C to G at top of stave Covers 1st/2nd for Rachel Marron. AUDITION PREPARATION
Dancers: must be prepared to learn Choreography from our staff - Please come warmed-up and ready to dance.
Singers/Actors: All applicants will be required to sing two (2) contrasting songs from the show. (No music will be heard of their own choosing)
