PROOF OF CONCEPT: SCENE FROM - Vagabond Repertory Theater Company Non Equity Auditions

A Proof of Concept scene for a proposed 2023 full length original play.

Context: In Cambridge, England, circa the 1960's police are baffled at a sting of kidnappings that are going on. Said kidnappings seem to follow the exact same pattern: A beautiful woman comes upon an unknowing man, kisses them until they eventually pass out, and they are then taken away by men in robes. Malcolm Daniels, a young officer at Scotland Yard, is convinced that it is the work of some kind of mysterious cult (which later proves to be true), so he goes undercover as a mechanic in town, deducing that this cult is looking for “new members” to build some kind of machine to take over the city. Soon enough, a woman known only as “The Seductress” comes for Malcolm, and her lips lock to his several times.

Note 2: There are instances of kissing on the lips in this scene. The director asks that performers auditioning for the role of The Seductress please be comfortable with this before putting in for an audition.

Character Role:

The Seductress: Aged 28-30:

A seductive, bewitching beauty of a woman. It is clear she is no ordinary person, she has some kind of ominous magic behind her. She can charm a man with a look, a touch, a kiss.

British accent needed for this role. There are instances of kissing on the lips in this script, the director advises that any performers looking to try for this role be comfortable with this before putting in for an audition.
