PALM BEACH OPERA 2021 SEASON - Palm Beach Opera

Palm Beach Opera Announces 2021 Chorus Auditions

Chorus auditions for Palm Beach Opera’s 20-21 season will be held on Friday, April 3 and Saturday, April 4.

The Palm Beach Opera Chorus will be featured prominently in the company’s 20-21 season repertoire, which includes Giacomo Puccini’s “La bohème,” Georges Bizet’s “Les pêcheurs de perles,” Vincenzo Bellini’s “I Capuleti e i Montecchi,” and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte.”

Auditions are by appointment only, and applicants must complete and submit the audition request form by March 27. The form may be found at
pbopera.org/chorusauditions.

Auditions are available for male and female singers ages 18 and older. Professional singers with training and experience with operatic literature and performance, and availability for evening and weekend work from November through April, are encouraged to apply for this paid opportunity.

For the audition, all singers must prepare two classical songs or arias, with at least one in a foreign language, preferably Italian, French or German. A pianist will be provided at the audition. For more information, contact Artistic Coordinator Sarah Schultz at 561-835-7553 or

Led by Associate Conductor Greg Ritchey, the Palm Beach Opera Chorus is consistently recognized for its artistic excellence. In recent seasons, South Florida Classical Review has praised the ensemble’s “razor-sharp intonation and glowing, well-blended tones” in “Madama Butterfly,” hailed their performance in “Tosca” as “superb” and “refined,” and singled out their “rich and balanced” singing in last season’s “La traviata.” Following their “polished” and “ethereal” singing in this season’s acclaimed performance of “Turandot,” the Palm Beach Opera Chorus looks forward to building on their success in next season’s exciting repertoire.

Palm Beach Opera is dedicated to producing live opera at an international standard of excellence, to enriching the life of the communities it serves with a diverse offering of educational programs, and to training the next generation of opera stars. Founded in 1961, the fully professional Palm Beach Opera presents main stage performances at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach and is a proud member of OPERA America and the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.
