SEEKING: Actor/Musician/Collaborators. Must be comfortable handling verse. Devised theater, Suzuki, Viewpoints experience a plus.

*A fast-paced, gritty look at Shakespeare's 'Much Ado About Nothing' set in a small concert venue following the deceit, struggle, and love of a bluegrass/folk-rock n' roll band.

Claudio - Male. 20s. One of the leading members of the band, Claudio falls in love with Hero upon his return to Messina where he is playing his final show on tour. Kind-hearted, genuine, noble. His temporary blindness to love makes him quick to believe evil rumors and take revenge. (Instrument: proficient in Guitar or Mandolin.)

Hero - Female. 20s. Vocalist. An up and coming solo folk/country artist and songwriter, the beautiful young daughter of Leonato and the cousin of Beatrice. Hero is lovely, gentle, and kind. She falls in love with Claudio when he falls for her, but suffers terribly when he leaves her at the altar. (Instrument: Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin skills a plus but not essential.)

Don Pedro - Male or Female. Late 20s-Early 40s. The bands manager, and business man. Suave, sophisticated, a true go-getter. Don Pedro is a longtime friend of Leonato, Hero’s father, and takes very great care of his band members. He is one of the most politically and socially powerful characters in the play due to the bands great success.

Leonato - Male. Mid 40s-70. A respected, well-to-do, entertainment tycoon at whose concert venue, 'The Messina', the action is set. Leonato is the father of Hero and the uncle of Beatrice.

Friar - Male. Mid 40s-70s. Founder and CEO of 'Roman Catholik Records' which produced the bands latest hit record. The most powerful man in the entire music and entertainment industry, and life long friend of Leonato. He is wise, dominant, and patient.

Borachio - Male or Female. 20-30. Band member and best friend of Don John. He conspires with Don John to trick Claudio and Don Pedro into thinking that Hero is unfaithful to Claudio. (Instrument: Guitar, Bass, Trumpet, Keys, etc. anything which can fit into a bluegrass/folk/rock n' roll vibe).

Dogberry - Male or Female. All ages over 20. The Head of Security at 'The Messina'. Dogberry is very sincere and takes his job seriously, but he has a habit of using exactly the wrong word to convey his meaning. Clowning, comedic-timing a must. (Instruments not mandatory, definitely a plus.)

Verges - Male or Female. All ages over 20. Dogberry's right hand man, Security Sidekick. Clowning, comedic-timing a must. (Instruments not mandatory, definitely a plus).

THE WATCH: Male or Female. Any age. Musician/Actors needed to play multiple characters on the watch, support the band, and serve as 'roadies' in this production. These artists will also play a major role in creation of the soundscape of the play. (Excellent proficiency in any instrument fitting the Bluegrass/Folk/Rock N'Roll vibe: Guitar, Bass, Trumpet, Fiddle, Accordion, Mandolin, Keys, Trombone, etc.)
