Audition Information:
Auditions will take place on Monday, March 2nd and Tuesday, March 10th, with auditions on both nights starting at 7 pm at the Milburn Stone Theatre. Please sign up for your audition slot directly through the Milburn Stone Theatre’s Cast98 Studio page at:

Those submitting a video to audition have until Monday, March 9th at 11:59pm and can do so via Cast98
Callbacks:
Callbacks for Cruel Intentions will be held on Monday, March 16th, from 6-10pm, Callback notifications will be sent out by Thursday, March 12th by 10 pm.
Audition Preparation:
Please prepare a song (approx. 32 bars, or 60 - 90 seconds of music) in the style of the show. Songs from the show are welcome but not required. We’re looking for songs that showcase your vocal range and understanding of the pop-rock style.

An accompanist will be provided for your audition and their use is highly encouraged. If you choose not to use the provided accompanist, you must bring a backing track (without vocals) to play during your performance.

Please note: Amplification will not be provided, and playing backing tracks off a cell phone (without proper additional amplification) is strongly discouraged.

Rehearsals:
Rehearsal for Cruel Intentions will begin in late March. Rehearsals will be based on both performer and production staff availability, so please submit all known conflicts at the time of auditions. The Milburn Stone Theatre traditionally rehearses between 2 to 4 times a week.
Please note: Cecil College will be closed March 20th - 22nd for Spring Break, April 3rd - 5th in observance of Easter, May 23rd - 25th in observation of Memorial Day and June 19th in observation of Juneteenth. No rehearsals will be held during these dates.
Tech Week:
Tech week for Cruel Intentions will be held Sunday, June 7th through Thursday, June 11th, no conflicts will be accepted for these tech dates.

Performances:
Performances for Cruel Intentions will begin on Friday, June 12th with performances on June 13th, 14th, 20th, 21st. Friday and Sunday evening performances take place at 7:30 pm and our one Sunday matinee takes place at 2 pm.

Please note: The Milburn Stone Theatre is a community Theatre on a college campus, our productions are open to the entire community, not just Cecil College Students, and Staff. This production is non-paid/non-union

Cruel Intentions Casting Breakdown:
All roles are available for audition. Listed ages are ranges, not requirements. While we encourage everyone to audition for any role, our Broadway Licensing agreement requires all characters to be performed as originally written.

Please note: The roles of Sebastian, Kathryn, Annette, Cecile, Blaine, Greg, and Ronald include staged intimacy. An intimacy director will choreograph and oversee these moments. Only performers 18+ will be considered for these roles.

SEBASTIAN VALMONT | Gender: Male | Vocal range: G3 - C6 / Tenor
A wealthy, charming and manipulative young man who uses seduction as a game, never allowing himself to feel real emotions. Beneath his arrogant and calculating exterior, he struggles with his own emptiness. His pursuit of Annette forces him to confront his true self, leading to both love and tragedy.

KATHRYN MERTEUIL | Gender: Female | Vocal range: G3 - D5 / Mezzo-Soprano
The ultimate queen bee - intelligent, ruthless, and always in control. She wears a perfect, polished façade while secretly delighting in manipulation and destruction. Driven by power and revenge, she will stop at nothing to maintain her reputation and superiority.

ANNETTE HARGROVE | Gender: Female | Vocal range: G3 - D5 / Mezzo-Soprano
Sweet, idealistic, and pure-hearted, Annette believes in love and honesty, making her the perfect target for Kathryn and Sebastian’s cruel bet. Though naïve, she is not weak—her inner strength and integrity ultimately change Sebastian’s heart.

CECILE CALDWELL | Gender: Female | Vocal range: F3 - D5 / Mezzo-Soprano
A sheltered and immature girl, Cecile is clueless about the elite world she has been thrown into. She is naïve and easily manipulated, particularly by Kathryn, who delights in corrupting her. Despite her innocence, she possesses an underlying sweetness.
BLAINE TUTTLE | Gender: Male | Vocal range: G3 - C6 / Tenor
Charming, flamboyant, and mischievous, Blaine is a social butterfly with a sharp wit. He enjoys stirring the pot and has his own secrets that make him an integral player in the tangled web of deceit

GREG MCCONNELL | Gender: Male | Vocal range: G3 - Aflat5 / Tenor
A privileged, handsome jock with a carefully crafted image. While he plays the role of the all-American golden boy, he hides insecurities and secrets that make him susceptible to manipulation.
RONALD CLIFFORD | Gender: Male | Vocal range: G3 - C#6 / Tenor
Talented and kind-hearted, Ronald is a music teacher who genuinely cares for Cecile. He is intelligent, refined, and passionate, but his trusting nature makes him vulnerable to Kathryn’s schemes.

MRS. BUNNY CALDWELL | Gender: Female | Vocal range: F3 - F5 / Mezzo-Soprano
Cecile’s overprotective and controlling mother. She is determined to keep her daughter’s innocence intact, but her elitist and judgmental views blind her to what’s really going on around her.

Students, socialites, and members of the elite Manhattan prep school scene. They add to the atmosphere of wealth, excess, and scandal while supporting the lead characters in key moments.
