Kentwood Players is holding auditions for WALTER in “Becky’s New Car” by Steven Dietz by appointment at the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue, Westchester, CA 90045.
WALTER, 50-63 – Wealthy businessman, widowed, comes in to buy cars and falls for Becky. Although successful in business, he is clueless and naive in his personal life. This is a substantial role and requires good comedic timing and improv skills.

Production dates are January 10 to February 15, 2014 for a six-week run on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm with Sunday matinees at 2pm. The production is directed by Susan Stangl and produced by Larry Jones by special arrangement with Dramatist’s Play Service, Inc.
“Becky’s New Car” is a thoroughly original and contemporary comedy about love, loss, choices and what makes life worth living, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken. Have you ever been tempted to flee your own life? Becky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage—with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life…and the audience is offered a chance to ride shotgun in a way that most plays wouldn't dare.
