Express Children's Theatre is holding video submission auditions for our show AN ART CLASS WITH WASSILY KANDINSKY

We are seeking at least 1 male identifying actor for our upcoming PAID touring productions.

This role requires a strong public speaker, who delights in delivering powerful language and is comfortable interacting with children Pre-K through 5th grade.

Reliable transportation is required.

Self tape auditions will consist of reading sides from the script found here:

CALLBACKS: Will take place by appointment in person during the daytime on March 9th & March 13th at Trini Mendenhall Community Center.

MUST HAVE DAYTIME AVAILABILITY. Rehearsals and performances occur during the day.

REHEARSALS: During the daytime from Monday through Friday, starting early March through mid April.

PERFORMANCES: First performance will be in the Rothko Chapel on April 18th. The show will continue touring during daytime hours to schools, day cares, libraries and community spaces around Greater Houston, through November, 2026, with the possibility of extending show run through December. Shows will be Monday through Friday, with some weekend shows. The number of performances per week will vary, but some days will have multiple performances.

AN ART CLASS WITH WASSILY KANDINSKY

An Art Class for Families with Wassily Kandinsky is an interactive theatrical experience that blends performance, visual art, and hands-on creativity. When a time-traveling museum guide summons famed abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky from the late 1800s into the year 2026, families are invited to step inside a living art class led by the pioneer of abstract painting himself.
