A tale of light, love and courage, as two worlds join through the mind of one man.

Henry is a writer and recluse. His heroine, Lumina, lives in a papery world. When Lumina takes refuge in Henry's room from a dark force threatening to destroy her, reality blurs with fiction and their lives are changed forever.

Breath-taking imagery and movement combine with exquisite puppetry technique for a fantastical storytelling experience. Red Leap's signature visual flair and endless inventive theatricality has won multiple awards and helped them take their brand of New Zealand theatre to the world.

Originally commissioned by Auckland Arts Festival 2011, PAPER SKY has been redeveloped for this preview season in Mangere as part of the Southside Arts Festival. The show then heads further south for a major season at Downstage Theatre in Wellington.

Directed by Kate Parker and Julie Nolan, Designed by John Verryt, Elizabeth Whiting, Jeremy Fern, Kate Parker, Jessika Verryt, Andrew McMillan and Claire Cowan.

Devised and originally performed by Emmett Skilton, Alison Bruce, Julie Croft, Justin Haiu and Veronica Brady (cast may vary).
