The Loons Theatre released this statement about the extension of POPCORN:

"Having played to delighted audiences and full houses throughout this unfortunate time for many of us, the run of POPCORN by Ben Elton is being extended.

It certainly has been a week of confusion and disbelief, but the Loons Theatre seems to have been place where people have flocked to over this past week; to get away from it all, and to sit and be entertained; somewhere to escape the turmoil and to genuinely relax and laugh.

The Loons Theatre has been checked, time and time again; has passed every examination, and then been given the go ahead..

And so POPCORN will play this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sept 16th, 17th and 18th.

If you pre-booked tickets but couldn't come along, we are keen for you to tell us of your booking and then come on one of these nights for free. This will still leave space for those of you who didn't make it along, but are now in more of a relaxed mind to venture out and to have some fun..

So be sure to book now, before these nights sell out. Commitments mean there will not be any shows after these dates.

With the Arts Centre unfortunately still closed, we have moved the box office to The Loons. 328 8230.. Or you can go to The Loons website and book : http://www.theloons.co.nz/

I repeat, please do not contact The Court Theatre, but go directly to The Loons theatre. By phone or email, you will get a call or email back confirming your booking."

Ben Elton, famous for stand up comedy, writing Blackadder amongst other great things, also wrote Popcorn, the Best Selling book, before turning it into a tremendously successful award winning play.
