'Kate's Rates' $10 Ticket Offer for THAT BLOODY WOMAN on 5 July

Fans of Kate Sheppard have something extra to celebrate on Tuesday 5 July.

To mark the opening of THAT BLOODY WOMAN, the rock opera by Luke Di Somma and Gregory Cooper about Sheppard's battle to win women the vote, The Court Theatre has announced "Kate's Rates" to the first Tuesday of the season.

From 9am until 6pm on Tuesday 5 July (or until allocation is exhausted), anyone who comes in to The Court Theatre in Addington will be able book a ticket to that evening's performance with a $10 note. Tickets must be booked in person on the day, are strictly limited to one per person and only available while seats remain.

"We think the woman on the $10 note would be glad that for at least one performance it only costs $10 to see the show celebrating her life," says director Kip Chapman.

That Bloody Woman earned hugely positive reviews at the 2015 Christchurch Arts Festival and the "rebooted" production's season in Auckland was hailed as "The show New Zealand didn't know it needed" (Metro) and "A show that should be seen worldwide" (Theatrescene).

"The last shows in Auckland completely sold out and we had to turn people away," says Chapman, "we don't want anyone in Christchurch to have an excuse for missing That Bloody Woman."

The Court Theatre's Box Office is open from 9am on Tuesday 5 July.
