On Saturday July 4th, Patricia Schriver, mayor of Lebanon Township, NJ caught the 4PM performance of THE TOXIC AVENGER and then enjoyed a backstage visit with Nancy Opel who portrays BABS BELGOODY, the corrupt mayor of TROMAVILLE, NJ. Check out the patriotic lapel pin that Nancy Opel adorned to her "Palinesque" costume in honor of Independence Day!

Featuring book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro (I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change), music by David Bryan(Bon Jovi) and direction by Tony Award winner John Rando (Urinetown), THE TOXIC AVENGER is playing an open-ended run at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

THE TOXIC AVENGER stars Celina Carvajal, Nick Cordero, Demond Green* Nancy Opel and Jonathan Root. *Nicholas Rodriguez is currently playing Mr. Green's roles through July 19.

THE TOXIC AVENGER  is a charming love story and laugh-out-loud musical that has it all -- an unlikely hero, his beautiful girlfriend, a corrupt New Jersey mayor and two guys who play...well, everyone else...bullies, mobsters, old ladies, and stiletto-wearing back-up singers.
