The month of August on the seacoast is a magical time, with the air thick with the perfume of late summer flowers, everyone outside as much as possible, just enjoying the slightly slower pace of life. It's time to stay a little longer at the beach, to party just a little harder, because you know that September is around the corner.

Well, the Seacoast Rep has something to add to the hot, muggy days of August: Hotter, Steamier Nights! The Rep is turning up the dial with a little something just for you grown-ups: the Seacoast Rep's Red Light Series. Seacoast brings to its main stage the acclaimed Wonderlust Burlesque. This promises to be the burlesque event summer if not the year. Performances will run Wednesday nights in August starting August 8th, 2012.

After the smashing success of White Hot Winter 2012 at The Rep, with standing room only crowds for the Sweet Nothings Burlesque and Drag Show, The Rep has added a "Red Light Series" program to its regular mainstage and youth performances. Featuring an adults-only alternative programming, the show is sure to be a hit for first timers as well as "seasoned" burlesque veterans. The Red Light will, um, expose the community to the freshest local talent and some of the country's best alternative performers.

The newest addition to the Red Light series is Wonderlust Burlesque: Summer Of… A month long burlesque series starring Portland Maine's Dirty Dishes Burlesque Revue and the ever popular (and local!) Lady Luck Burlesque. The show's will be hosted by one of New England's quirkiest and most sought after drag queens, Bunny Wonderland (Knate Higgins). The 4 shows present 4 different themes each week. Summer of Sin (August 8th) Summer of 69 (August 15th)Summer of Magic (August 22nd) and Summer of Love (August 29th). Each week will bring in new local and regional performers, and a new theme. Keeping the whole "endless summer" fresh and fun every single week.

In addition to Wonderlust Burlesque, The Rep is also offering up a taste of the nostalgic and hilarious. Frequent Fryer: An Evening with Delta Miles is a hilarious and show stopping send up of cabaret and tribute to celebrities of the past. Delta Miles (Johnnie Pirroni) is a drag act to be reckoned with. Co hosting the Sweet Nothings show, Miss Miles floored everyone with her powerhouse vocals and quick wit. This one "woman" show will surely be the surprise ending to a busy week. Presented every Sunday nights in August starting August 5th, 2012.

Wonderlust Burlesque and Frequent Fryer: an Evening with Delta Miles are both general admission. $20 for each show. Tickets can be purchased by calling603.433.4793, by visiting the Rep Box Office at 125 Bow Street Portsmouth, NH. Or by visiting www.seacoastrep.org.

Please be advised that Wonderlust Burlesque contains adult humor, strong sexual situations, strong language and brief nudity. Delta Miles's Show contains adult humor, strong language.
